About this card

The Susan G. Komen® Customized Cash Rewards Visa® credit card from Bank of America earns an overall rating of 3.9, placing it firmly in the 'Good' category, and leaning towards 'Excellent' for specific users. This card stands out primarily due to its outstanding rewards program for a no-annual-fee card, offering an exceptional 6% cash back in a chosen category during the first year (then 3%), a solid $200 sign-up bonus, and a 0% introductory APR for 15 billing cycles. The absence of an annual fee significantly enhances its value proposition, making it a highly attractive option for everyday spending, especially for those who can maximize the bonus categories and pay their balance in full. However, the card's main detractor is its potentially high regular APR, ranging from 17.49% to 27.49%. While the lower end is competitive, the upper end is quite steep, which could significantly diminish the card's value for cardholders who frequently carry a balance. The ongoing balance transfer fee of 5% is also on the higher side. The quarterly spending cap on bonus categories, while common, is a limitation for high spenders. Despite these drawbacks, the card benefits from Bank of America's strong reputation and the added appeal of its charitable contribution to the Susan G. Komen foundation. For Bank of America Preferred Rewards members, the earning potential is even higher, making it a very strong contender. Its overall value, particularly for responsible spenders who pay their balances on time, positions it as a very solid choice among cash back cards, balancing strong rewards and no annual fee against its higher potential interest rates.
