About this card
The Bank of America® Travel Rewards Credit Card for Students is a mixed bag, landing an overall rating of 2.8. Its strengths lie in the lack of annual and foreign transaction fees, making it a decent option for students who travel internationally. The intro APR offer and sign-up bonus add initial appeal. However, the high ongoing APR significantly diminishes its value if balances are carried. The rewards rate of 1.5% is only average, and substantial benefits require the Preferred Rewards program, which is not realistic for most students. While reputably sound and clearly targeted, its high APR and only moderate rewards keep it from achieving a higher rating. It's a fair starter card, but better options exist if students can qualify.
