About this card

The Chase Freedom Rise® is a good credit-building card with some notable strengths and weaknesses. Its $0 annual fee and decent 1.5% cash back reward rate make it accessible and valuable for those with limited credit history. The positive reputation of Chase as an issuer adds to its appeal. However, the very high APR is a significant drawback, requiring users to prioritize paying their balance in full to avoid high interest charges. While the rewards are simple and easy to understand, they are not particularly generous compared to other cards, even those without an annual fee. The overall rating reflects its effectiveness as a credit-building tool with a reasonable rewards program, balanced against its high APR. Strengths: No annual fee, cash back rewards, solid reputation of Chase. Weaknesses: High APR, basic rewards structure.
