About this card
The GM Rewards Mastercard is a mixed bag. Its strengths lie in the rewards program, particularly for GM enthusiasts, and the absence of an annual fee. The rewards rate of up to 10x points on GM purchases and 3x points on all other purchases is attractive. However, the high regular APR (22.24% to 32.24%) significantly detracts from its overall value, especially for those who carry a balance. The presence of foreign transaction fees and high balance transfer fees are also negative aspects. While the card suits individuals loyal to GM, the high APR and other fees limit its broad appeal. The introductory 0% APR offer on GM purchases is a short-term benefit, but the long-term cost of carrying a balance is substantial. Considering these factors, an overall rating of 2.7 reflects the card's limited value proposition for the average consumer.
