1. Navigate to the Find Reward Flights tool on the official Avios website. You'll need to be logged into your free Avios account to use it.
2. Enter your departure and arrival airports, the number of passengers, and the month you want to travel. You can search for one-way or round-trip journeys.
3. The results page will show a calendar for your selected month. Dates with available award seats are marked with a circle: a half circle indicates limited availability, while a full circle means there's good availability.
4. Hover your mouse over a specific date to see the exact number of seats available in each cabin (Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First) and the required Avios for the flight.
5. Once you find a flight that works for you, clicking the date will redirect you to the website of the operating airline—either British Airways Club, Iberia Club, or Aer Lingus AerClub—to complete the booking process.

Current Limitations of the Tool

While this new tool is a major step forward, it’s important to be aware of its current limitations. As of now, the Avios calendar view is best used for simple, direct travel plans.

Here’s what to keep in mind:

• Nonstop flights only: The tool currently only displays nonstop flights. If your travel requires a connection, you will not see those options in the search results.
• Taxes and fees aren't shown: The calendar view shows the Avios cost, but it does not display the total taxes and carrier-imposed surcharges. These fees can be particularly high on British Airways flights, so you'll need to click through to the final booking page to see the full out-of-pocket cost.
• Limited airline partners: The search is currently limited to flights operated by British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus. Other Avios partners like Qatar Airways and Finnair are not yet included.
• Best for hub airports: The tool is most effective when searching for flights to or from the airlines' main hubs, such as London (LHR), Madrid (MAD), and Dublin (DUB).

How to Earn Avios Points

One of the best features of the Avios program is how easy it is to earn points, even if you don't frequently fly on these airlines. Avios are a transfer partner for most major flexible credit card rewards programs.
